Work is kicking my ass this week. Learning curve and such. Another of my wisdom teeth is impacting, as well, which doesn't help. Having it hurt like a bitch isn't exactly helping me maintain a positive attitude right now.

I'm sure I'll move past it, won't even think much of it, in the future. But later isn't here yet. For now it kinda sucks... : (

I feel like taking a day off, so I can rest, read, and write all day. But that wouldn't help me get out of this funk I'm in. One of my coworkers put it into very understandable terms for me: baseball terms! He says I'm hitting the equivalent of a 'grinder'-- a term pitcher's use for a tough stretch of games. I just have to grind things out and pick up my own game to right myself.

This doesn't just go for me, either. Anyone who thinks, "Man, this week's been pretty rough on me. I could really use a day off..." DON'T DO IT! I know it's tempting, believe me I do. I know it might seem like taking a day to recuperate might help. But seriously, the NUMBER ONE WAY to help yourself out in this type of situation is WORK THROUGH IT!

Just accept it for what it is, another test of life. Instead of LOWERING your pace, you need to RAISE your game to another level. It's the only way to IMPROVE yourself. Otherwise, you may feel good during the day you take off, but you'll still hit the wall at school or work. In fact, you might feel even CRAPPIER than usual waking up and knowing you have to go back to school or work the next morning. Plus you may lose out on something valuable the day you missed. You never know what might go on while you're out.

It's not easy going to school after a rough day, or work after an unproductive day. A day you may have made a lot of mistakes in. But you know what? Life isn't supposed to be easy. The world isn't one giant Staples. ; )

Working hard and pulling yourself up to the next plateau or the top of the mountain makes life rewarding. It makes it worth struggling through tougher times to get to the better times. So chin up, people!

Yeah. Sorry, felt inspired for some reason.

And with that... off to take some more Aleve! Anyone with better suggestions for treating toothache? I'm all ears!

Ja~!
