I'm not entirely sure that this is against the rules in itself, but I can think of several uses for it that wouldn't really be smiled upon.
I recently discovered a passageway behind the big mirror on the fourth floor. Now, I may just be slow--it could be that everyone already knows about it. I'd like to think you'd tell me if you'd found something like that, though...
Anyway, it's caved in part of the way down. I'm going to try to find a way through, but even if I can't the passageway would make a good hiding space. I tried to move enough rock to get through, but couldn't. (I'm sure that the house elves will be very pleased with the state of my robes, poor things...)
So there I was, dirt all over my robes, muttering to myself about how I could get through all the fallen rock, and what should I see as I climbed out of the passage but a girl? A Hufflepuff, judging by her robes. Did she ever give me a strange look. Hope I didn't scare her or anything...
