To anybody that voted for President Bush, I respect your decision as long as it was informed. I may not agree with it, but as long as you have reasons to support your decision I can honestly say that every person is entitled to their opinion and that every opinion should be voiced (once again, as long as it's informed). Now, to those of you who voted basing your choice purely on the words democrat/republican, I can honestly say that I have no respect for your decision. Elections are supposed to mean something, they str about picking somebody who will be able to make positive changes in our country and hopefully make a positive impact on the world. Sorry, I'm ranting. I guess I'm just disappointed. I did, however, sent John Kerry a letter and I thought I would post it.
Dear Senator Kerry,
I wanted to write this letter in hope of personally thanking you. Thank you for sincerely trying to change America, thank you for maintaining such eloquence in character, thank you for bringing truth back into politics, and most of all, thank you for coming into this election with a righteous purpose. I'm majoring in international relations at Lynchburg College and it's people like you, who work for society using a combination of heart and mind, that make me realize that I would one day like to do the same. Most importantly though, it's people like you who truly have a chance to make a difference in the world and I hope that I will continue to hear more about your efforts in the future. After hearing your concession speech, I’m sure that I will. Senator Kerry, it's people like you who make me proud to be an American. Thank you.
