penultimate day of freedom

Today I decided to check out the Harvard art museums, since I felt the need to be surrounded by things older and more important than me. Terrific Greek sphynxes (sphynx? sphinxi?), and a whole bunch of impressionist/post impressionist stuff. The AC had kicked out in some of the galleries, and you could smell the oil paint on the canvases. I imagine this is bad for the priceless works of art, but it reminded me that even though we see art now in highly sterile conditions, it wasn't made that way to begin with. It's not like Monet had a climate-controlled studio.

Then it was off to Herrell's for the BEST ICE CREAM EVER. Seriously, if you try to dig into it with your spoon and you can't get the spoon out, that's good ice cream. I had one taste of the chocolate and had to sit down.

Lastly, I picked up graphic novels in Harvard Square (both by the guy who writes Y The Last Man). The current plan is to roast myself a veggie burger in the toaster oven and read my spankin' new graphic novels on my breezy-but-dangerous porch. Potentially I'll be hopping over to the Stitch n' Bitch at Spark Craft down the block, but only if I'm not too embarrased by Lumpy, my half-finished, linearlly-challenged scarf.
