Sugizo.
This rant is about how people treat this guy: 
I admit, I have not yet heard a lot of Luna Sea's songs: I'm stuck with X Japan right now, but this dude, this Sugizo, is making me want to hear them so I have no doubt that is going to happen very soon.
Even though I know next to nothing about Luna Sea, I know things about Sugizo. I have seen him perform quite a lot now, and I must say: I adore the man. And I hate how people treat him right now!
I read a lot about X Japan, about Yoshiki, Toshi, Pata, Heath and generally everything that has to do with the past reunion lives, the hide memorial summit, and the upcoming lives. I'm getting sick of the attitude against this man because "omg, are they having Sugizo as a guest guitarist again?! He can't replace hide!"
No. He can not replace hide. Nobody can. Nobody said he could, or that he wanted to. Have you even read his comments on the reunion lives? They made me cry:
"No one could ever replace hide. I certainly can’t. He was too overwhelming, too important. But I noticed something amidst the pressure and complications…my task is to become his medium. In other words, through playing together, to stand behind the band and support their potential. And I intend to do it to the best of my ability.
I always say a prayer before a concert. Asking for the guidance of my guides and angels is an important ritual to me. This time, I prayed to hide. I asked him to somehow support me as I tried to support X. That hide’s will would be transformed into sound through my body and fingertips, that his soul would descend to Earth. And I also prayed that my feelings reached every member of the audience."
So tell me, do you really think Sugizo's trying to replace hide? If X Japan asks him to play I.V. for them, let him.
Sugizo has been a friend of X Japan and the members for longer than most of you knew the existed! He was devastated when hide died! People need to remember this. Luna Sea was, as I recall, discovered by hide. They became a member of Extasy Records before going over to a big label!
What I'm trying to say is this: stop being so harsh on Sugizo, it's not his fault. It's no one's fault, because there's nothing wrong. There are around 50 guitarists that Yoshiki has contacted that are probably at some point going to fill in for the lost guitar, and yes, Sugizo's probably going to be there quite often.
My rant was more rambling and repeating, but it's necessary for someone to do this. I repeat: Sugizo's a wonderfull guy, and an amazing guitarist. Probably one of the best! I think that hide would have liked it that he played his parts.
This rant is over. I think I made my point across. Next time it's an even bigger rant about how people treat Toshi, because he needs some love!
