Holiday Weekend Recap

Nov 28, 2010 16:25

It's been a lovely 4 day weekend. Almost was a lovely 6 day weekend if you don't count the whopping 4 hours I was at work on Wednesday.

Chilled at home for the morning of Turkey Day then was whisked away stillbourne and killer_queen___'s abode for a lovely dinner with many friends.

Friday was a day of geeking aside from meeting up with a friend for coffee and then catching the new Harry Potter at the Cinerama that evening.

Yesterday I set off with hesperide to battle the hordes at Northgate and the Value Village in Lake City. The original plot was to try on a pair of boots I have been drooling over on the Skechers webpage before ordering them. Alas, my plot was thwarted by the store not having those boots in stock. I tried on another pair to get an idea for size and figured I would hope for the best.

We also stopped by Lane Bryant. Now this part might be a bit TMI for you of the male persuasion out there so you might want to skip to the next paragraph. Since losing about 20 or so pounds my bras no longer fit proper. The band was too lose and kept coming undone. This is not happy when one is at work. So, I decided to get myself fitted. I magically went from a 40D to a 38DDD. o.O How that happens simply by losing 3" off the underbust is beyond me, but whatever. I now have shiny new bras that fit proper, even if getting used to underwires again is a pain. And I mean that literally. Ouch.

Value Village was happy as I found myself a new top and a gift for solstice.

Once I got home and decided to place the order for the boots I threw caution to the wind and got the boots and a pair of cute flats as together I could use the $40 off $200 coupon.

Today I woke up and was pretty damned bored. Didn't feel like geeking or watching a movie and I certainly didn't want to be practical and do housework so I headed downtown and caught 'Red' at Pac Place AMC. It was a fun little bang bang blow-em-up sort of movie.

Then I did a bit of window shopping and ended up being bad at Ross. I found myself the cutest Betsey Johnson purse. Yeah, I shouldn't have, but I did anyway.

This is my new shiny...

The blue version of that purse is going for $50 and up on Ebay. I got mine for $35.

That needs to be the end of the shopping though as I leave for New York City on Wednesday. Been going over my packing list. Won't need the travel iPod speakers or the netbook as I'm staying with a friend. Seeing the Addam's Family musical may be out unless there are some decent cancellations the day of. And we're still waiting back to hear if we can get into the Watain show on the 2nd. So keeping fingers crossed on that one.

Overall, it's been a nice few days. I've actually left my apartment every single day. That's frightening.

Now I think I'm going to be good and do a bit of housework and put in a movie. I have Jade Warrior, Unleashed or Book of Eli to choose from. Maybe crack open a cider too.
