Last night, I went with
fallaway2wither, his roommate and 2 friends to Hunt Club Farms' haunted farm deal out in Virginia Beach. Danny and I went 2 years ago and had a good time. I remember it was $20 for a wristband so I figured it would probably be $25. Well... it was $30. Not a huge deal for me or any of us.
However, there was a father ahead of us in line... he appeared to be in a less-than-perfect financial state (aka... he looked relatively poor). He had 3 kids with him, probably ages 5-8 or 9. He asked the ticket person about the pricing and was obviously shocked and unprepared for the price. The kids were quite excited about being there. The guy took a look at the kids and then grudgingly pulled out his money clip and drained most of it to the ticket person.
I felt really bad for the guy. What was the price of his children's disappointment? Obviously it was higher than $120. Poor guy. I wish I would have had the means to help him out, even just one admission, but I'm poor too.
Just something I wanted to share.
