Yesterday's road trip

May 04, 2007 07:19

So Giyota and I missed some important papers when packing up her vehicle for her trip. She called me at around 7am and asked me to look for them. Sure enough, they were right where she thought they were. She was almost to the class location so she couldn't very well turn around and be an hour late with the equipment to actually do the class.

I drop the munchkin off and away I go to Carrol.
Yep.

I haven't been there in around 10 years.

Impressions as they were made:

1) Wow, this place hasn't changed much along this route. Still the stupid drop from 4-lane to 2-lane at Ogden.
2) HOLY CRAP! Jefferson is all the way out here now?!
3) WTF?!?!?!?! When did Glidden get this big? An aquatic park? Houses on the north side of 30?
And they got rid of their sign touting a state championship from before I was born!
4) Ah, here's the hill. I should be able to see Carol from the top of WHAT THE?!?!
What the hell is all this? Why do I feel like I am in a Chicago Burb from the late 80's?
5) Okay, that's familiar at least. Now to Swan Lake. Huh? WHen did that Education Center building go up?
Oh well.

This is mainly for a certain person that made me drive there many times. Thought she'd get a kick out of this.
