So, yeah. That Happened.

Yay Friday!

I'm literally sitting at my computer in a t-shirt and my undies, and just completely chilling out. I had a fairly busy week, work-wise, (actually, a couple of busy weeks, as (almost) all of the extensions we filed back in April were now due September 15th. Well, 16th since the 15th is a Sunday) but my part is done, so I can veg for a night before jumping into doing bills and cleaning out the clutter that used to be my apartment. (At least it's not anywhere near hoarder levels?)

But I'm a terrible pack rat. Always have been. I save everything! I started cleaning out my closet over the summer, and on that front best_of_five and xingou came shopping in my closet and I gave them a bunch of clothes (mostly work stuff) that I don't wear or need anymore. It's nice to have space. Now I just have to tackle the shoe racks and the billionty shoes on the floor of my closet ... And get rid of other stuff I don't wear anymore or that's too big for me. As well as things I don't use anymore but keep for some bizarre nostalgia's sake. Except my t-shirts. Yes, I have 4 drawers of t-shirts, and no, I am not throwing any of them away!! Not even the ones from college that are a wee bit small ... The sad thing is that this was supposed to be my Spring project. *checks calendar* Oops?

So, in other news, I went on a date last night. And also last weekend. And I suppose it's safe to say that I'm now dating. after nine years of self-imposed celibacy The lucky guy? My ex-boyfriend from twenty-two years ago, who still seems to like me and thinks I'm pretty neat, so there's that. :-P

His name is Bill, and he lives in Jersey, but the funny thing is that when we dated the first time, he lived in Staten Island, so it's really not much further now. Well, there are more tolls I suppose. (At least there's EZ-Pass now?) He works in Manhattan, though, so that's not too bad, distance-wise. It almost feels like it should have been awkward - I mean, twenty-two years have passed! He was my first internet boyfriend before the internet even officially existed. We met on an old BBS site that some guy ran from his house in Brooklyn. Oh, the good old days when a 2400 baud modem was lightning fast!

He's also six years younger than me, which isn't an issue at all now, but back then it raised a few eyebrows ... (for those doing the math, he was 18 when we met and I was 24. :-P) And speaking of, here's an amusing aside: I like to assign different ringtones to people on my mobile, so as a joke, I made my tone for him a SHINee song called "Replay (Noona, you're so pretty)" which is a song about a younger guy pining for an older woman (Noona - which technically means "sister" but it's a term guys use for women who are older (but not too old!)) So when I told him this, he made his ringtone for me "Mrs. Robinson." CLEARLY WE WERE MEANT FOR EACH OTHER!!!

He also knows all about fandom (now that I've explained it, though it's still early in our Fandom101 lessons) and I don't know if he's just smitten, a masochist, or what, but he even read one of my fics. In fact, he decided to start with the porniest one - With a Little Help From My Friends, which is a Remus/Sirius/James fic. His verdict was: "I think you are super talented and while the topic doesn't turn me on, your brain does." ♥ (Ok, maybe I'm a bit smitten, too!) As you might imagine, it was a hell of a first date:

B: So what have you been up to these past 22 years?

L: I write gay porn. Wanna see?

Okay, it wasn't QUITE like that - I said hello first! - but still. I kind of made myself a promise that if I ever did date again (something I really didn't expect, but whoomp, there it is!) I wasn't going to hide that part of me, and I refused to be embarrassed by it (because I'm not!) The fact that Bill and I have a history just made it easier, and even comfortable. (I still can't believe he started with THAT FIC, though! Ha! He's a real trooper!)

So, yeah. That happened. And now if his name comes up, you'll know who I'm talking about. :-P

OMG! I'm dating again! Is this Bizarro World, or what? I don't even have a tag for this!
