reading is fundamental

Ugh. It's been two weeks since I've posted because I can't really think of anything to post about.

Well, anything interesting.

Well, anything interesting to people who aren't me. :-P

Of course there was the whole Russian Meteor thing, the investigation of which is ongoing. Almost made me want to watch Deep Impact and Armageddon again. ( ( Read more... )

Hahahaha! Alas the corgis are a completely separate entity. (And no bestiality either. So far. That I've seen.)

Except for that Corgi!Clint/Padfoot fic that I will never ever ever write.

Alpha/Beta/Omega. It's a thing? People are born fitting into different biological/psychological types, with Omega men (rare) having the ability to get pregnant and usually a physiological need to give themselves sexually to Alpha males (and sometimes Alpha females, depending on the writer's understanding of A/B/O). Note: Betas are usually...just there.

There's bonding. Some D/s. Knotting (as in...the way canine's have sex). it's a thing.

And it's spreading through many fandoms like wildfire.

it does feel strangely similar, except that the stories are usually set in AU worlds where everybody is an Alpha, a Beta, or an Omega (i.e., it's not just the dog animagus/werewolf population). But yeah...the dynamic's not all that different. :)

It's worse. It's WAY WAY WORSE! :-P

OMG. Hilarious explanation.

(Despite my interest in knotting tropes, Omegaverses are still...less exciting? I think it's because they (as norabombay puts it) "get rapey."

See, and I have no particular interest in knotting tropes, but I still read some omega!verse fic because...I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY! :)

For me, I'm not a fan of the D/s-type power play world they all seem to embrace. Not my kink. Though yeah, there seems to be a lot of - if not actual non- or dub-con, then lots of "averted-at-the-last-minute-by-my-alpha-hero-saving-the-day" almost-non-con. The knotting though, yeah, okay, that can be really hot. :-P
