It is gross and dismal as fuck out, but I'm still under the thrall of my remix assignment so as far as Mondays go, that helps a bit.
Even though Remix isn't an exchange, I know people still tend to panic (check) and wibble (check) and freak out about things like "OMG! I'm a Sirius/Remus OTPer and I got assigned to a SNUPIN OTPer and I HATE Snupin!!!11!11111! How am I going to do this???"
So person who drew my name from the pile, I apologize if you are not a fan of Remus/Sirius, though I do have a few other pairings and a couple of gen fics under my belt as well. But either way, don't worry about what *I* think - write about what appeals to you, since that's basically what remix is all about anyway. If you feel the urge to ignore the shipping and add someone like Snape to the mix, go for it. My story is just the jumping off point from some degree or other, and wherever it takes you is up to you. No need to concern yourself with any delicate inclinations I might have. If I actually had any that were relevant, I wouldn't play in remix fests.
I listed "Rise From the Ashes" as my safe story (which I wavered on) one, because it was already remixed by
lls_mutant; two, because I can't imagine there is more than one person daft enough to want to remix a 36K word monster (:-P - Love you, Lissa!) and three and most important; I've been contemplating a sequel for the past three years that might actually get written before I turn 60 (but then again, it might just stay in my head because lazy Lisa is lazy and with just rough ideas in my head, said sequel would very likely be twice as long as the first installment, if not longer, and that is daunting as hell!) BUT! If you're overcome with some bizarre compulsion and really want to tackle it, or some particular aspect of it, I would only ask that you don't write something that can be construed as a direct OotP era sequel/continuation. (which we're not supposed to do anyway.) And by that I specifically mean "Hey, that ending was really ambiguous. I wonder what happened next... I'll just write that story!" But by all means, play with any aspect within the story, and if that takes you past my story timeline, that's perfectly fine. *re-reads last few sentences* Um, I think you'll get the gist.
Crap - it's noon, and I am waaaaaaay behind schedule - I was supposed to leave half an hour ago! Oh -
lauriegilbert! Your package just arrived! Good thing I was procrastinating on LJ. See? Sometimes it's good to be bad.
