Not the first BB - that was Harry/Draco, and other fandoms have had them. (SPN and J2 (Jensen/Jared RPF) and a few others.) I think ours was the first character-centric one, rather than ship-centric, though.

And it's not that I begrudge people wanting to have fests (except when I do because holy crap - festapalooza! There are so many it's ridiculous) but this is like the 15th Big Bang to pop up since. Ours was Sirius, then Flora and Inell did Hermione for her 30th birthday, then Snape for his 50th, then Ginny, Draco, Lupin, MWPP, Harry Potter Bang, Draco, Neville, Lucius, Bellatrix, Ron... and a few others I'm forgetting off the top of my head. It's got to the point where a lot of people I know aren't "Ooh! My favorite character(s)!" anymore, but rather "*Facepalm* Another fucking BB?"

Well, with Smutmas I'd say you came up with a perfect format that works really well, and while there are...imitations, NOTHING is like the real thing. Even Springsmut, which, you know, we, ah, borrowed from you as well. :-P To me, and to a lot of others I suspect, Smutmas was the King of fests. Except for RS small gifts, I haven't participated in a Christmas/December holidays fest since Smutmas, and I doubt I will this year either.
