Okay, so update time.
There is about a month-long period of my life from this summer that if you weren't there you will likely never hear of. Be glad; it sucked more than a little. Let's just pull out the old Shakespeare quote "There are more things in Heaven and Earth...than are dreamt of in your philosophy" and leave it at that.
Moving on...
The new apartment/townhome is awesome. I have as much usable temple space as the old temple had and it's indoors so less trouble with extremes of temperature. I also have an entire (small) room devoted to just my library. How's that for awesomeness?! I still need to get some more bookshelves so I can un-double-stack some of the shelves, but it's still pretty cool to have a living room that doesn't overwhelm guests by the sheer number of books in it. Speaking of living room, I still only have a recliner and two folding chairs plus my media stuff, but I'm looking forward to getting a decent used couch or loveseat sometime in the near future, probably from Craigslist or a yard sale somewhere. Good thing most of my local friends don't mind sprawling on the floor, of which there is plenty of space. There is not, however, plenty of space in the dining/craft room at the moment; that's where all the stuff I haven't finished unpacking yet is languishing. I need more free-standing storage in there, too; another cupboard or two or some more of those cube bookshelves, at least. Then I'll actually have a place to put the stuff that needs unpacking--most of it is craft stuff or games/puzzles/etc.; the rest is wall decoration that I'm waiting to put up til I have more furniture so I know where I can safely hang stuff and not need to move it later.
I started fall semester a couple weeks ago and am busy busy busy. I have lots of reading to do for my youth materials class--at least 70 children and/or young adult books this semester, that will each need a relatively detailed entry in a reading log! And that doesn't include the textbook reading for that class or my other two classes, or all the written work. Happy fun joy.
Spiritually, I really do think I'm moving on and up. My coven is now 5 members strong (and will stay at that number for a while, at least, due to the lack of a ranking High Priest), and highly active with classes, rituals, and just hanging out and such. We will be performing one of the rituals for the Indianapolis Pagan Pride Day at the end of this month. I look forward to seeing what the local Pagan community's reaction will be to a traditionally-based ritual; there hasn't been a publicly known traditional coven in town in a decade or two, apparently. Unrelated to my coven, I am also starting to host a monthly ritual series based on the zodiac that will be a great deal more eclectic, and that's on top of the monthly Tree of Life rituals that will be temporarily taking place at my temple until the former host can find a new place to live down near Bloomington. The Gods and spirits are starting to move more freely through me which has been an interesting and challenging experience to say the least. It has given new meaning to the phrase "Child of the Gods".
I am probably happier now than I've been in years. I still have some challenges to work through, most of which I won't discuss in a public forum, some of which I will not discuss with any but a select few, but overall life is good right now. I look forward to it continuing to get even better.
If I forgot anything major I'll just have to post again another day!
Blessings to all!
