So, my official GRE score report came in yesterday. I knew the day of the test that I got a 610 on the verbal and a 580 on the quantitative, and I wasn't too concerned about the writing section because, well, I was a writing major; I figured I would do decently well. The score for the analytical writing section can't be an automatic scores since a couple people actually have to read the essays I wrote. I now have that score:
5.5 out of 6.0
That puts me in the 90th percentile on the writing section. I think the report said the median score is 4.0, and when it comes to the description of what the scores mean, 5.5 & 6.0 are lumped together (much like 4.5 & 5.0, 3.5 & 4.0, etc.).
So, what this likely means for my graduate school application: the verbal & quantitative scores were high enough to not keep me out; the writing score is so high it might get me in. Cha-ching!
Now I wait......
......again.....
