I know there have been a bunch of Doctor Whos before.... Is it okay just to watch the newest series?

Sure is! But don't be surprised if it makes you wanna watch the earlier Doctors, too. ;-)

I already looked at my library's website and they have most them, thankfully.

If you just watch the new series, you'll be fine. Though, I do recommend eventually watching some of the old. Especially the Fourth Doctor. Because it really is a lot of fun. But you won't be completely lost if you don't.

Huzzah! A new Who fan! I started with 9 and then caught up on 1-8 before 10 came on. I had to. It's such an awesome, fun show no matter which Doctor you're watching.

Nine is still my favorite though (well...most of the time. Sometimes he ties with Seven).

Huzzah.... such a fun word.

Nine is pretty cool and very funny.... of course I don't have anyone to compare it to.

Everyone loves a new Whovian! Just wait until you get to the episode with the pig men!

And, you know, they say that your first Doctor's always your favorite. You'll see. :D

lol, I am watching that episode now.... It's campy, but it the best way ever.

That's really what endears everyone to Doctor Who, in the end. No one could argue that there was camp, but I think that the stories made up for a lot of it. Also, the sheer optimism, and the interesting characters.

The pigmen helped, too.

Honestly, the Classic Who isn't available where I'm from, and, from what people have said about the quality of production, I'm not particularly interested in watching them.

I am not either.... I have watched a few clips from YouTube and it seems like all his female companions are made to look like idiots... at least what I have seen.

Plus I rather look at DT. :D

From conversations I've had with other DW fans and from the interview that Christopher Eccleston gave in the extras for the first series dvds, that seems to be a pretty common thread for Classic Who. It's a turn off for me as well.

That's why I like Rose, she is the perfect role model for girls, which is good since so many kids watch the show.

I remember that extra too, he didn't seem to like it. Good CE. :D
