I've done my share of big kid stuff the latter half of this year.

...Such as securing a full-time (temporary) position. Not exactly in my field of choice, but it's work. It's experience. It's paying the bills. It's very challenging. Being a staffing supervisor is like doing an extremely complex, customer service-geared jigsaw puzzle, and boy, do I love puzzles! And, despite my loyalties to my customers, I LOVE putting people to work. It is probably the greatest feeling ever. But I'm learning so much. I got very little training before Amy left, so much of my training has been on the job. I've made my share of mistakes, but how else do you learn, right? The trick is to not make a really big bad no-no mistake.

Evidently I'm good enough to hang around after Amy returns from leave (which is this Wednesday to be exact). It's not going perm just yet, but there are plans. The most I can do is keep my fingers crossed. A small raise would be appreciated and benefits would be all the more glorious.

Things with Thomas and I could not be better at this stage in our relationship. Since I've last written, I spent some time in Japan to see him and to explore another culture (yippie travel bug!). We see each other on weekends, which is one reason why I'm dying to be transferred to the Romeoville office. I'm just extremely happy when we're together. It sounds strange, but you know how you can sometimes picture aspects of your future? I can not only not picture my future without him, but I feel that I can see very vivid "visions" of the future... if that even makes sense. It's funny and kind of scary at the same time, but I love every minute of it.

Been reading, despite working as much as I do. Audiobooks come in handy for 35-45 minute commutes. Water For Elephants and The Shack have been my favorites this year.

Did some apartment hunting recently. At this stage in my career/student loan repayment, I can't afford to do it. But it's still a really incredible thought that in a couple of years I'll be doing it my way...

I really miss college. I mean really. Especially this time of year. I don't miss tests (as this is finals week for my dear friends at NCC), but I miss everyone there. I miss the buildings and working for Admissions. I miss it all.

Hopefully updates will occur more frequently. Sorry.
