Would you like to?! HAHAHAHAHA...sorry about that...Austin Powers joke. :)
So my last weekend in Aiken was an eventful one. On Friday I hung out at Rick's with Ashley, Katie, and Kristin. For awhile it was Rick and five girls. Poor thing..he could hardly speak, let alone add to the conversation. Luckily Brian, Brandon, and Cayce came over later on to add some testosterone.
I worked my last Saturday which was bittersweet. I didn't even realize it was my last Saturday until I got home. I was supposed to see Austin Powers with Rick after work, but I chose sleep as well. I went to dinner with Ashley and Katie at Ruby Tuesday. Don't eat steak from there...or at least the one in Aiken. I felt a little queezy as we walked to our cars...so Katie and I made a pit stop at my house. Steak definitely doesn't taste as good the second time around. Yuck! Kristin came over and we went to her friend Caroline's for a little bit then called Rick and hung out over there with him and John. We got there about 12:45 and stayed until 5 in the morning! Oy vey! Kristin and I were starving so we went to Waffle House and then home.
Sunday I finished the majority of my packing. Everything that I am taking (minus bed) is in the living room. My room looks so naked. Around 3ish I went over to Kristin R.'s to go swimming with the girls. That was fun. I hadn't see Kristin is quite a long time. Rick said that he wanted to go and see the movie Sunday evening and sure enough, moments after I got home, the phone rang and he told me to come over. I felt really dirty because I didn't have a chance to shower after going swimming...but it was like I stunk or anything. :) So I went over to Ricks apartment after changing out of bathing suit and into decent clothes, putting on makeup and fixing hair (in a record 8 minutes). So after everyone showed up, we designated drivers. I volunteered because I need to take advantage of driving while I still have access to a car. So Rick, John, Garen and I were in one car and Brian, Mike and Chris were in Brian's car. The movie was good..but I could have waited to see it on video. Afterwards we went over to Ricks and played Nintendo. I beat Rick in Super Mario Brother's I! I was quite pleased. I left around 1:30 and slept for quite a long time.
Today was quite uneventful...caught up on much needed sleep. Worked for an hour. Then watched Shallow Hal with Garen.
It is a bittersweet time as I realize I only have four days left here in Aiken with my friends and family. I know this move is one of great opportunity and a necessity in path of my life. Yet I can't help but fight the tears when I think of all the wonderful times I have had this summer, all the not so wonderful times, most of all the memories that I will never forget. I know God has His eye on me this week and for weeks to come. What will happen will happen and I have very little control over my future, let alone the future of others. Though this doesn't stop me from wondering which of my friends I will keep in touch with, which ones will forget about me, and which ones will miss me, I know I succeed in doing at least two of the above. For what it is worth to them, I love each of them...even if they never realize it.
