So, my birthday ended up being very fun. Tons of people wished me happy birthday, which made me feel loved. Especial thanks must be extended to: Kristin, who organized my "party" and left
this for me to come back to after class; Alex, who sent me a very amusing birthday PowerPoint; Marek, who sent me a birthday picture/poster/card in the mail; Sara, who was so anxious to remember to tell me happy birthday that she did it a week in advance; my mom, for mailing me a birthday cake; and everyone who wished me a happy birthday via livejournal posts (I'm sorry if I didn't comment; I was a bit busy, what with the celebrating and the homework!).
My suitemates and I ordered Chinese food and ate it while watching the last disc of Firefly (which Kristin hadn't seen), and a good time was had by all.
Two other people in my circle of friends have birthdays coming up, so tomorrow night we're all going to have a fancy-dress masquerade party at Steak 'n' Shake at 11:00 at night, which will be very amusing and fun. ^_^
Yesterday my bio class went to the Green Oaks field station, which the college owns. We identified trees, which I find fun. However, I got incredibly sick on the way there, as a result of car sickness plus the Knox Plague (head cold), and ended up having to go to the Green Oaks dorms to lie down for a while. But I recovered, and managed to enjoy myself. After walking around and seeing the dorms, I really want to do Green Oaks Term, where a group of students go out there and live for a term, doing projects relating to the environment and suchlike. Unfortunately, Green Oaks Term is reserved for Environmental Studies majors, which I most definitely am not. :( It's so pretty out there. I'd no idea that Knox County had anything so gorgeous and naturelike - I thought it was all cornfields.
Today is Friday, and I'm glad. However, I'm going to be drowning in biology this weekend, which is not fun. I've also got a Linguistics test on Monday, but I pretty much rocked the exercises for this chapter, so I think I'll be good if I make sure I've memorized definitions for all the vocab.
Yay, college.
P.S. It still hasn't quite sunk in that I'm twenty.
