So, I went to the State Fair employment office today, and I got an interview for a job as an "Attraction Ticket Taker." I'd be working at a fair-owned attraction like the haunted house, the Space Needle, the giant slide, the Sky Ride, or a few others I'm forgetting. I don't know what the deal with the interview is, whether it's an "I want to hire you and the interview is just to make sure you aren't glaringly inadequate" interview or a "there are 50 people applying for this spot and I can only hire 10" interview. I had to pick a shift: either 7:30-3:30 or 3:30-12:30. Since I'd have no way of getting home at 12:30 at night, I went for the morning-afternoon shift. Which means that if I get the job I'll have to be waking up at 6. Joy. Still though. Money is good, and ticket taking is a better job than food service. And, I'll get into the fair free every day! Fair food for breakfast and lunch twelve days in a row...whoa.
Speaking of money, I came home to discover my financial aid award for next year. They raised my loan amount by $1000, and increased the cash I'll have to shell out by a couple hundred as well. Thanks a bunch, Knox.
