That has to be one of the stupidest ads EVER.
Does a new year really mean starting over? I'm not sure. It's a nice thought, though. Haha, the whole thing's never meant much to me, but when I was in elementary school, the funniest and coolest thing to do before Christmas break was to go around telling everyone, "I won't see you until NEXT YEAR!"
