Music and etc.

I hate how I cannot think of anything poetic to write, yet my mind is brimming with wild, incoherent creative thoughts.  It's like a fastball right down the middle that you foul straight back.

In other news, I love Dickey Betts even though he's repetitive (but still a world better than Dave Matthews); maybe being a burned out jam guitarist is still better than being a yuppie who plays safe music that doesn't challenge anything or anybody.  Dickey can be uplifting with his melodious rifts without being a total sellout to happiness.  He still churns out the wicked solos that separate the mediocre (DM, and every single fucking college music scene band) from the great (Duane, Jimi, Eric, Warren, Derek).  Why do people in college feel the need to listen to something that's not pop, but almost?  It's like they fear the label of liking Britney or Christina or Justin or Ashlee so, instead, they listen to music that is distinct only by a millimeter.  Basically I'm insulting all of you.  Deal with it.  Find some real music and quit your whining.  That being said I will still attend the OAR concert and give them a chance.  What ever happened to rock and roll?  God, every time I think there's a new band that might be cool they end up sucking anyway.  I have to give props to Velvet Revolver though.  Contraband is one fucking awesome album.  Keep it up, Slash.  Save me from the mediocrity (although I am kind of worried about their beautiful tune "Fall To Pieces" (the intensity of "Patience" without Axl's whining) getting so much radio play.  Let's keep it on the DL, boys.  I wouldn't want those yuppies to start listening to you because it's "cool".  They should listen to you because you fucking rock).

What am I even talking about?  This would be avoidance of what I'm really feeling.
