After wearing out my nerves waiting to hear back after my interview for my first choice project, I got this email today:
Hi Gretchen,
We are delighted to offer you a position on the Regulator of Sex-limitation (Rsl) project, to study the intricacies of hormonal regulation in the liver. Chris will be in contact with you to set up a time to get started. We look forward to working with you!
Best wishes,

SQUEE!!!
Although Dan, the prof in charge of my second-choice project, sent me an email today saying this:
I was impressed by your interview and I think that you would be an excellent fit with the project. Do you know when you would be able to make a decision on your choice of projects?
Ugh! I contemplated this for awhile, because in reality I would love to work on either of these two projects. But I guess there really isn't a choice ... I need to go with the liver project. With that I'll be doing a lot of hands-on work in teh labratory, working with actual DNA samples and doing plenty of genotyping and whatnot, whereas the other project was mostly research on the computer. If only I could do both! Bah. But ... SQUEE! I'm so excited and relieved :)
And now back to homework . . .
