I want to…I want to be brief. I want to thank so many people here who are friends and have been friends and family for so long. And I love all of my friends who have come from…those that I went to junior high school, high school, college, law school with. Those who I have worked with over the years and become great, great friends with. But I want to thank the people, first of all, of this great state, for giving me one of the great, great honors any person could be given. A chance to travel, and meet, and listen, and learn about the needs, and concerns, and goals, and aspirations of people, who really want nothing more than every other American wants, and that’s just a better way of life for themselves and their kids. And who want to do all they can to make their community a better place as well. And so I thank…I thank every…(cheers and applause). I thank everybody that we met on the campaign trail. I thank those who supported us and I thank those who listened to us. Because I still believe that there is a better way for America to conduct its affairs, and there’s a better way for us to conduct campaigns, and there’s a better way for us…(Applause, cheers) There’s a better way for us even to lead. And the voters of this great district have given me the most unique and wonderful opportunity anyone could ever ask. I was four years old when I knew I wanted to grow up and be what I’m doing today. And you gave me a chance when I was 25, you took a big, big risk on me, and I thank the voters of the 9th district for doing that tonight. (Applause, shout from crowd: thank you)
