Something years of listening to Celtic music will teach you.
Like I said last night, I don't know much about the IRA and the movmement for idepencence, the Orange and Green parties ect. But I heard (or read) about this yesturday and it was pretty sureasl. I was kind of waiting for some catch or a statement saying that it was just a big rumor.
I remember chatting with some one on line who lived in norther Irland. She was an ardent supporter of Great Brittian. Now, our ideas about Iraq, global terror and opinons of the U.S. were almost polar opposites, but I certainly did not envy her because, we started dealing with terrorism on our shores when the planes hit on 9/11. They have been dealing with it for generations. She lives in a place where you honestly wonder if the car accross the streat from you is really a bomb and where expressing the wrong opinion in a pub could get you beat up. Here, people can say "F Bush" and get little more than offended looks. During the last election, I did hear stories about sliced tires and broken windows, but comparitively, that's pretty tame.
So yeah, this is pretty sureal. I really hope this is a HUGE step in the right direction rather than something that sparks off weird violent shit. I can't why the later would happen, but then, I was born and raised in the States and so have quite an American meantality.
BTW, your journal is one of the better ones on my friends list, some of the best conten. :)
