Neustra Angelita(renamed). Adalia is six months old (give or take).
A light slap to his cheek stutters him from his sleep, a weight perched on his chest. It takes him a moment to blink the sleep away from his eyes. He smiles when he sees his beautiful little girl’s laughing face and his lover smiling down as he holds her.
“What a way to wake up” Fernando says as he reaches out and wraps his hands around Adalia who is sitting on chest. She gurgles and grabs at his nose.
“Happy birthday, Nando.”
Feliciano slides onto the bed next to Fernando’s warm body, tucking them together. He kisses his cheek before resting his head on Fernando’s shoulder.
“Oh, I don’t think so.”
Before Feliciano could even ask what he means, he swoops down and kisses him properly, pressing their mouths together, letting familiarity of years spent together fill their senses. When the kiss ends, Fernando chuckles before turning his attention back to their daughter.
“Happy birthday indeed.”

The day is filled with friends and family non-stop. In the afternoon Carlos, Rafael and David come by, who have all come to Madrid just for the day. They catch up while the three fight over which tío Adalia prefers more (for some reason Rafa is adamant it is him while Carlos and David just scoff at him).
When Feliciano is on his way back to join them from getting drinks for everyone, he stops at the doorway and observes. They’re all on the floor, forming a little circle around Adalia who won’t let go of Fernando’s pant leg, demanding his attention and not caring that she is interrupting the conversation. When she lets out a little wail, she gets what she wants when Fernando cocoons her safely within his arms.
Years ago Feliciano would have never imagined to see a day like today, to have a family with Fernando. It is all so surreal.

When the night falls they head to Fernando’s family’s restaurant. Café de Chinitas is packed with familiar loving faces, smiles spread all around and it warms Fernando’s heart immensely.
Great food is shared as well as fantastic music and fabulous company. Somehow Fernando’s sisters and cousin get Feliciano and Fernando on stage and thank god for the wine they have consumed because both of them look utterly ridiculous as they dance the flamenco. But Fernando’s never laughed as much as he is right now and Feliciano never smiled so much so it doesn’t matter. Not right now anyway.

With rounds of besos and abrazos (that wouldn’t end but no one is complaining) Fernando finally escapes the restaurant and waits for Feliciano and their daughter by the car. The smile on his face, the feeling in his heart doesn’t want to fade away. He hopes it doesn’t.
“Ready to go?”
He looks up from his phone and frowns. “Where’s Adalia?”
Feliciano chuckles as he walks up to him and kisses him firmly before taking his hand. “She’s sleeping and safe with her grandparents. Now come on.”
“What? Why?”
He opens the door to the car and motions for Fernando to get in before quickly making his way around to the driver’s side. He slides down against smooth leather before starting up the car, loving the purr of the engine.
“Because it’s she’s allowed time with her grandparents, Nando. But mostly because it’s your birthday and I want to fuck you.”
Fernando chokes on his words as he turns around. “Um, okay. Good enough reason then.” Feliciano doesn’t comment of the shade of colour his skin turns. He decides to be nice; it is his birthday after all.
