i tried to force myself to write some bikey but sadly to no avail.
maybe another day? (i need some inspiration or something! *sadface*)
so i decided to do a fic meme and post it here
1.Do you read and/or write slash fic?: yes, both
2.Fandom(s)?: hmmm i tend to read fandoms that i don't write in. Weird, i know. but in general, footie, tennis, hockey, lotr
3.Favorite Fic (not written by you): All That You Can't Leave Behind; David Beckham/Michael Owen, written by fireredborn who longer has lj and i dont think you can find it anywhere anymore. which is sad because it is absolutely beautifully written. this writer made me fall in love with bikey. and Unanswered by thedevilchicken; Joe Cole and Freddie Ljungberg, weird pairing but BEATIFULLY written *nods*
other fandoms... hockey: Soulmate Series; Trevor Linden/Markuz Naslund written by Amy. So many ups and downs and hotness. Awesome.
Tennis: Too many, lol. but if you want a rec, drop me a line :)
4.Favorite Fic (written by you): oooooh good question. never really thought about this. Both Choices and Salvation were huge long fics that i adore greatly. i also like the mini series i have going on with Feli/Nando, starting with Half Crazy. hmmm but i also love Upon My Skin because i love david's tattoos and i've been trying for a long time to incorporate them in a fic. i like how it turned out.
5.Things you like in a fic: characterizations and emotions. i'm a sucker for happy endings, but also angst. if a fic makes my heart hurt, i love it. yeah i'm weird like that. oh and sex is always good too lol.
6.Things you don't like in a fic: i dont really like AU, unless its written by someone who pulls it off amazingly. i'll read lotr AU fics but when it comes to sports slash, i rarely will (the exception is AU fic by scoobydumblonde she writes them so perfectly!). i also don't like writers who dont know how to write sex. its ok if you dont. dont force it, honestly.
7.Is there something you want to try writing in a fic (or fandom) that you haven't yet?: i haven't done bdsm fully yet. i've done a little here and there within some tennis fic but nothing too hardcore lol. i want to write in lotr but i'm scared :S
8.Any advice for those who are starting out as a writer?: READ! do research! i read lots and lots of fic before i started writing on my own. Footieslash was where i started (i couldn't resist the bikey hotness). but yeah, read and if you're not sure about something, do research and ask others! beta's are nice (even though i don't have one myself, never have actually). hmmm that's all i can think of!
