Testing at the Westside
Well today we had testing with Yesha Ministries on the westside. Not something I want to do again.
It all started up with having to wake up and be ready at 6:30 to get to the location by around 7:30. Then after we get there, we find out that the test was postponed until 9:00. That would have been another hour of sleep I could have had! Anyways, as the test progressed, it became apparent that each school's standards and curriculums were different. The most difficult technique was 4 different kicks >.<, thats a joke! There was even a guy testing for black belt. Why is there someone testing for a black belt at a color belt test??? My Black Belt tests were 2-3 days long. His was not even 2 hours of actual work, and thats counting sitting time. I heard a rumor that he was starting his own school somewhere. On top of that, one of the head honchos there were correcting our students to do a technique a different way then the way we taught them. In fact, we taught our students that what he was doing was the wrong way to do a technique!
Needless to say, my school has come to the agreement that we do not like their standards and they seem a bit too low for us. In fact, some people said that they felt like that they didn't even earn their belts... Well anyways, I must get back to the mess that is my room.
