Its been quite a while since i posted.
Christmas break was a blast. I slept in! It felt great. Drew and I held out a bit longer than last years gift exchange. Christmas mass was fun as well all 3 of them. I cantered my second mass, and sang for the other two. I've had a cough since Christmas that has come and gone, fluctuating with my LOS and what not...
My youth group is coming to an end *sighs*. Drew's mom, the youth director was fired because "not enough people were coming". The real reason, we believe, is some people at the parish who didn't want to work as hard and wanted the refurbished building all to themselves, after Drew busted his ass working on the place with the occasional help of others. There's even more complications that I will not bring up in this forum, but luckily Ms G (Drew's mom) has a new job in the parish. Its not going to be the same with out youth group on Monday nights anymore, not even mentioning all the people that are depending on our youth groups donations. Around 500 foster children will not get easter baskets this year. That is not cool... Then there are the elderly at Pablo Towers that would not be serenaded at their birthday celebration. Luckily, we have rescued our Karaoke Machine and we will still fulfill that activity. The best part of all is that the youth group will fall into ruin.
It was proven about 5 years ago when a similar incident happened. People came up and wanted Ms G fired for not running the youth group the way they wanted it to be run. The result of the multi-month war of weekly meetings was that Ms G would no longer be in charge of the Jr Youth Group, which actually made her job easier. A replacement came in and not only took the Jr Youth Group, but the 9th grade as well. To our knowledge, only 1 or 2 JYG meetings were held and that was the end of it. In a nutshell, we lost 50-60 teenagers at the minimum. More if you count the irregulars. Now that Ms G is gone, we will now lose the program that was finally coming back to full strength. *sighs*
I have two programs due this week and I am now down to the last one. Gotta get crackin. Chow
