Billy Wilder runs into Louis Malle, who has just made his most expensive film at two and a half million dollars. Wilder asks Malle what the film is about and Malle tells Wilder, "Well, it's sort of a dream within a dream." Wilder responds, "You just lost two and a half million dollars."
