Chinese Translation:
xmooncake did a lovely Chinese translation of the fic, which can be found here if you know the language and care to give it a read! I do know Chinese and was flattered to have my fic translated into my first tongue. Its a very good translation!

The Doctor appeared in the middle of an empty high-rise office, tapping the device on his wrist. “Stupid thing. Can't even time-travel properly.”

He surveyed his surroundings, desks with blank photo frames, lockers with empty name tags. They've already fallen into the void. Then he saw a man standing on the balcony, dark and looming as a bat about to descend. He approached him cautiously. The man was fixated on the exploding TARDIS.

“Beautiful, isn't she.” The Doctor regarded the pale man with his smiling gaze. He pointed to the orange orb in the distance. “That's my TARDIS, that is.”

The man turned toward him, grey eyes piercing and intelligent yet wavering with uncertainty. “Who are you?”

“I'm the Doctor.”

The man gave a disbelieving scoff. “I'd expected something less pronounceable than that from an alien.”

At the Doctor's raised eyebrows the man launched into a much practiced rant. “The world's wrong, empty. I can't remember the way it was before but it doesn't take much reverse engineering to realize its built for more people. Its abandoned, hence, the end of the world. You materialized using technology way beyond our time in such circumstances could only mean you're either from the future or you're an alien. You do look human, but that thing in the sky is not the sun, and, you just said that was your 'TARDIS'. So I'm guessing alien. And of course, there's the fez.” He finished with a smug sniff.

The Doctor's face split into an ear to ear grin. “Look at you, the whole universe's about to be erased from existence and you are still standing here, deducing.”

“If you're the Doctor, then I'm the Detective. At least,” his brows furrowed, “I think I am.” He looked disoriented, and the Doctor could feel the void at the edge of the man's consciousness. No doubt it's been eating all around him. The fact that he was able to resist this long was an impressive feat.

“Why are you here?”

The Doctor looked down at the Vortex Manipulator. “By mistake. I'm running out of time. I've got to get to my friend.”

The man's eyes widened a little at that.

“I've forgotten something important, but I can't remember what.” The man's face was screwed up against the wind. Thin lips pressed together. "Do you know?" There was a hint of desperation in his voice. This was a man used to knowing, to being in control, it must've taken him a lot to ask for assistance.

The Doctor knew who he was, and what he's forgotten, but he can't tell him, he can only help.

“It's not something. It's someone.”

The man closed his eyes with concentration. The Doctor coaxed gently, squeezing his shoulders. “You have to try. Nothing's ever forgotten, not really.”

Suddenly the man relaxed and opened his eyes, looking at the Doctor with guarded confusion.

“Who are you?”

The Doctor let him go, “It doesn't matter.”

The man blinked once. “Who am I?”

The Doctor could see the crack closing in, right at the back of the dark swishing coat. “You're brilliant.” he said, and gave a little smile at the man vanishing into the light.

And all that was left was the lonely God standing over the world, eyes mirrors for the glowing explosion in the sky. He pressed a button on his wrist, and in a moment was gone.
