A little ficlet for you based on Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now." Rating is PG, pairing is Hayley/Andy. Not related to AIEW
Hayley still had her memories of Andy, even though they weren't dating anymore. She remembered how sweet he was. How much he cared about her. She couldn't help but wonder if she ever crossed his mind...he crossed hers quite a bit. Hayley reached for her phone and brought his number to her mind.
It was 1:15 in the morning, and she was alone with nothing but the few shots she had drunk. She knew what she needed. Andy. She needed to hear his voice. Hayley promised herself that she wouldn't go running back to him, but this was out of her control. How did she ever think that she could go without him?
In his apartment, Andy downed another drink and let his gaze return to his door. He had this nagging hope that Hayley would come see him like she used to when they were together. He remembered the last time she had come over. God, she had looked beautiful. She always looked beautiful, even in sweats and no make-up. Andy sighed and wondered why the hell he let her leave. He was a little drunk, but that didn't impair his thinking. He needed her.
Both of them held their phones and debated over calling. They were still hurt from their split, but hurting was better than feeling nothing...Andy called Hayley.
“Hello?” she said.
“Hayley...”
Their hearts jumped as they heard the familiar voice at the other end of the line. Andy had sworn that he wouldn't call, but some promises just couldn't be kept. This was one of them. There was an awkward pause, and then they both said the same thing.
“I need you now.”
