They fly together in the edge between sky and space, and he tells her about his family, his wife and son. She listens, and wishes ghosts could have families.
Dark, 2 and 8 (Gwendal and Una)
“Where is my knight?” she asks, and Gwendal feels the earth turn, swallowing the Redcrosse, sword and shield and all.
“Asleep,” he says.

Tess thinks she has a thing for self-confessed villains. First Danny, and now a self-reputed evil overlord. Even if he a little melodramatic. It’s an art.

He still lies next to his mother’s dresser, smells in her perfume. When he’s half-asleep, breathing in the dead, he sees ghosts, tall knights with long swords, and dreams.
