Its been a whole year

I thank my God upon each remembrance of you
I think I've always measured my years October to October, after all it would make sense - I was born in October. But this year, more than any other in my life, has been measured this way. I was at my aunt's funeral on my birthday last year. Reminders of her live all around me, sometimes threatening to swallow me whole. Its been a big year. Lots has changed since this time last year. As a matter of fact, its easier to pinpoint things that are the same than it is to pick out those that are different.
Life goes on, it always does. And in two days I will be turning 21. And this year, damnit, no one is dying. That sounds so morbid, but I promise its almost funny.
So here's to a new year!
