So, I got this from arabian and miss_blanche =) thought it'd be a fun little way to get the journal going and slowly wave goodbye to 2010 *sighs* time does fly, does it not?
Your main fandom of the year: no questions, hands down (surprise, surprise) The Vampire Diaries. Seriously, my obsession with this show/fandom rivals Harry Potter, which pretty much owned me for a good decade :|
Your favorite film this year: is it weird that I honestly don't have one? I'm going to see Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows later this week (I know, shame on me for being so late!) so I'm going to bank on that giving me something cinematic to remember this year by...
Your favorite book this year: The Solitude of Prime Numbers by Paolo Giordano was the most impactual thing I've read in a long time. The two main characters are so utterly broken, and yet there's always that smidgen of hope *sighs*
Your favorite album or song this year: favorite song is most definately Illuminated by Hurts. I fell in love with it on the first hearing, the lyrics and the instrumentals are just dazzling... aaand don't even get me started on the lead singer *drools* check out his hotness-- I mean *ehem*-- the beauty of the song below.
Your favorite TV show this year: This is probably a surprise to no one-- The Vampire Diaries. The show honestly gives me everything I could ask for and some: an intricate, complicated and down-right heart-wrenching epic romance; characters who are complex and well developed; intricate plots with awesome twists and cliffhangers; beautifully written family dynamics and friendships... need I say more?

Your biggest new fandom discovery of the year: surprise, surprise- The Vampire Diaries ^_^
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year: honestly, I still love this show and so many of the characters that I'm certain I'll probably keep watching/immersing myself in fandom, but I have to say this season of Glee has been a monmental let down for me =( the only storyline that I find myself remotely invested in is Kurt's and that probably has much to do with the fact that it's the only one with an inkling of character/plot development. Otherwise, it's been a haze of useless guest stars and preachy and/or thematic episodes that do little to no service to any of the characters/storylines and it bothers me because there is sooo much untapped potential-- Quinn and Puck and the aftermath of Beth in and of itself is a gold mine left utterly untouched and ughh I'm just going to stop there because this could easily take me a page or two lol...
Your TV boyfriend of the year: Damon flipping Salvatore!! He's dark, he's romantic, he's cruel, he's (occasionally lol) kind, he loves, he hates, he's everything and anything and I love him to bits for it!!
Your TV girlfriend of the year: Caroline Forbes. I love this girl to bits and pieces, and something tells me we would have a blast together ;)
Your biggest squee moment of the year: okay, I know this scene was controversial (some people loved it, others hated it and thought it borderline abusive) but I LOVED it-- The Damon/Elena scene during "The Sacrafice" where he deflected her punch and leaned in, looked like he was about to kiss her, cautioned her, and pulled back. & then, we have Elena trying to draw in some much needed air at the end of it all (which, if you want to read too deeply, says wonders) It was intense and just so the Damon/Elena I've been waiting for <3*sighs* (the vid below has that scene and the scens where he gets between her and Elijah, and where he stops her from going into the tomb btw).
Your most missed old fandom: I really miss how immersed I used to be in Harry Potter =( I've read some amazing fic and taken part in some wonderdul and complex forum discussions in that fandom... perhaps seeing The Deathly Hallows later this week will reinvogorate my participation...
Your fandom that you haven't tried yet, but want to: I have to say The Skins and Misfits; I've heard some outstanding things about both shows and I'm in love with Effy Stonem without ever actually having watched The Skins <3
Your biggest anticipation of the new year: my oh my am I getting predictable-- but here it is-- the return of epicness that is The Vampire Diaries ^_^
