Dinner at Okinawa restaurant

Treated a friend to dinner tonight to celebrate his discharge from hospital. We went to this restaurant that serves authentic Okinawa cuisine (their restaurant is part of a chain of other restaurants owned by a Japanese company that serve various different types of Japanese food, i.e. my regular yakiniku place, hotpot. My very first time having Okinawan cuisine was with kurot when we went to Yokohama 2 years ago.

It was too bad that the restaurant ran out of sea grapes tonight...I was wanting to try that. But we did get to try other foods, such as peanut tofu, bitter gourd and pork gyoza and stewed pork belly.

The sausages and miso fish were unremarkable, but everything else was worth the try. My favourites would be the peanut tofu, gyoza and the stirfry dish. This would be a good place for a quiet chat with friends, but prepared to spend a bit of money on drinks since they don't serve water or tea. I like how despite eating to much, we didn't feel bloated or greasy, because all the dishes weren't too oily.

Price: about US$100. I would come here on special occasions, but this wouldn't be my regular place because I'd probably spend a fortune on drinks alone lol.
