Description: Do you want a man who smells like the sea? Of course you do! And now you can have exactly that, as a little buddy on your computer screen.
Japanisches Kaiserreich Mitternacht Marine is a comic by Rokuzaki, and can be found
here. If you do not know of the disclaimer, please read it
here.
This post is kind of lengthy, since I had to put so much information about the desktop buddies in it (for those of you who have never heard of these before), if you know what they are, CTRL+F "downloads" and get right to it.

So I spent 15 hours on this little guy, and possibly sprained my hand.
You're asking me, "what is this?" and I'm going to tell you what it is.
It's a little interactive buddy for your desktop. Basically, you unzip/de-rar this file, click on the little icon of a computer screen and he should fall down onto your taskbar to have fun!
"What else does he do!?"
Well, he sits and mopes, crawls like a slug (what I affectionately refer to as "uboatslug"), crawls up the "walls" of your screen, he'll crawl on the "ceiling" too (what I call "uboatspider"), crawl and sit on MSN and Firefox windows that have been 'windowed' (ie: not maximized or minimized) and he'll throw your windows.
"He'll do what?"
Throw your windows. In example, you've got your MSN chat client open, in a small window down by your taskbar, and oh, there's little Ulrich walking along my taskbar-- WHAT ARE YOU DOING LET GO OF MY MSN WINDOW YOU SILLY LITTLE-- oh it's off screen...
I haven't tested it with AIM windows or things, but according to
berlinblue they do throw Firefox windows (if you're running Palemoon, which is a smooshed version of firefox, they won't, however sry2say), and MSN chat client windows.
"How do I get offscreen windows back?"
Well, simple, there's a little icon on your task bar, it won't look familar and if you look close it appears to say "U 1224" on it. Right click on that, and the menu will appear.
"But wait, it's all in boxes! I can't read the options!"
Have no fear, I've made a list of them.
1. Add One (this will cause the shimeji to multiply, usually they drop in from the top of the screen. Of course, the little guys do this on their own too.)
2. Come Here! (this makes the shimeji follow your cursor (or default to the taskbar icon) and then sit on the taskbar, and stay there. They'll follow your cursor with their bodies, of course, move your cursor around and see what happens, maybe they'll even change clothes!)
3. Only One Please! (this causes any duplicates of the character to vanish so there's only one left. Really helpful when you come back to your computer and SURPRISE there's like, 90 shimeji crawling around.)
4. I want my IE windows back! (Now, this may say "IE windows" but it works to get firefox and MSN back, (I think,
berlinblue confirm/deny for firefox?). So basically what it does is bring back the windows that the shimeji tossed off screen.)
5. Exit (self explanatory, this closes the shimeji completely.)
"What else do I have to know about this?"
Not much. God that was a lot shorter in my head, but anyway.

What he might do:
Sit, crawl, walk, climb your screen/windows, nap, follow your cursor, clone himself out of a dictionary, or clone himself by pulling out a loose strand of hair, fall, eat a snack, jump or fly, and he seems to be hiding a second outfit under that coat of his...
Note: the bubbles on some of the poses change color from white to blue depending on the background color.
Note 2: There are some small imperfections, such as his speech bubble, it only reads correctly when he climbs the left side of the screen, and some small white pixels that are around him in odd places, this is normal, as is some bits of the coloring being missing. Most of these were hand drawn from a base, and so some differences exist between poses. He will clip with your monitor when he climbs the "walls", but other than that, he's as perfect as he'll get.
And yes, I will be making more when my hand stops being painful to use.
Yes you may use the IMG files to make icons if you want (I dunno why you would, they're pretty simple).
Edit:
If it won't work: download
this and take Ulrich's img files, paste them into Izaya's img files, and it should work.
Can I maybe get a desktop buddy/shimeji tag?
