Ok, I swear I need to stop being such an internet and fanfic whore and go to bed. Lucky I don't have class 'til 1PM, unfortunately I have to get up early to catch up on homework I couldn't do because I don't have light to read by.

We had a storm that knocked out the power, and now we're at half power or something like that; my laptop can charge and my alarm clock is flashing, and I had to unplug my microwave because it wouldn't stop making a crazy beeping sound, but the lights don't work or rather flicker rapidly on and off.

ANYHOO, "Let Me Fall" is definitely my favorite too! Psychic Fangirl Powers Activate! I originally thought it was another version of the Josh Groban song too, but it's completely different. I think it's the most beautiful song on the album; I can't necessarily it's my favorite song because I love them all. I felt the song really expressed the core of their relationship.

As for "Better to Have Loved"...ummm...I wasn't intending him to betray her completely...^^'I got the idea from the plot summary of your epic-fic in the making; you said when they first meet Sephiroth is laying waste to the town and Hotaru kicks his butt then gives him a second chance, agreeing to take responsibility for all his actions. They have hot sex and then he goes and steals the Silence Glaive and use it to suck up all the life-force etc etc. I was trying to focus on how Hotaru would have felt at that moment although it might not fit in with the way you pictured the scene.

I blatantly tried to work lyrics into each scene. Gorgeous is the only exception because I couldn't find a way to make them work word for word; I just used the gist of the song. Are you looking to sample the entire songs or just pieces of them? Itunes has samples on there. You can go to her site (idinamenzel.com) though and hear four songs in full: "I Stand," "Gorgeous," "Brave" and "A Hero Comes Home" (the Beowulf theme). Much love; I'll be sure to respond in more detail to each of your song drabbles in the second set.

I know the feeling... I should go to bed, but I'm currently enjoying working on the little fluff-fic I've got between them.

Regarding the plot summary and Better to Have Loved... er, I'm a bit confused. I don't remember saying that Sephiroth steals the Silence Glaive and use it to suck up the life-force after they have hot sex! Cause he definitely DOESN'T do that. >.> Or did you mean that that was YOUR plot bunny from that scene? I'm a bit confused, you made it sound like stealing the Silence Glaive/sucking up the life force after the sex was from my plot. o_O I could just be misreading what you meant (ie what you meant might be, "Yay, you had this plot, I decided to go in a different direction with it entirely ^^")

Basically, my original plot said that after they have hot sex, Sephiroth has an attack of the angst (think Let Me Fall only WAAAAY worse) and can't bring himself to tell Hotaru how he feels. Then Bobraknia shows up again and starts doing world explodey things that only Hotaru can stop. That's going to end up killing her, but she goes and does it anyway. Sephiroth follows her with the idea that if he can't stop her, he'll at least do what he can to save her life. Hotaru is horrified because Death Reborn Revolution will kill Sephiroth, and when he asks, "So what?" she confesses that she loves him. Sephiroth at that point chooses not to tell her he returns her feelings, because that'll make everything even worse for her. Instead, he convinces her to go ahead with it, and ends up taking all the destructive force for her and dying in her place. ;_; but he gets better. =D

I'll see if I can grab those samples! I wish I had equivalents to share... the closest female singers I have to Idina are Sarah Brightman, Enya, and Sarah McLaughlan. XD Having said that, you should totally check out a song by Paula Cole called, "Saturn Girl". Read the lyrics... it's pretty much ABOUT Hotaru. I seriously wonder if she wrote the song about Hotaru, it's scary how well it matches. ^_^

Maybe, I'm confused. Oh I see, I got some things mixed up in your things. He steals the glaive when he's on the whole Jenova kick BEFORE they start living together and have hot sex. Then Bobraknia shows up and Sephiroth is all like "hey we're family" and Bob is like "No, you suck. I hate you." Bob possesses Mamoru and Sephiroth saves Hotaru by nearly killing Mamoru. And the senshi get all pissed and Haruka kicks Hotaru out of the senshi. Ok, I lied about the story line; it is yours, just the events are not exactly in that order. Too many plots and subplots and my wires get crossed. Plus it's waaaay too late for me to be up; let's just say it's plenty past midnight here.

LOL, that's right, you've got it all in order now. ^_^ (well, except that the hot sex comes after Haruka kicks Hotaru out of the senshi XD). And I totally understand about getting all the plots/subplots crossed over... I should probably cut down on those a bit. XD And as you said, it's late. No worries, I was just having a moment of, "Wait, I don't remember THAT in my plot!" and getting confused. ^^ It's half past midnight here, and I'm torn between sleeping and more Seph/Hotaru fic. XD

And hey, whether it's my ficverse or not, it's still pretty interesting. ^_^

Oh and I wanted to post the lyrics from "Let Me Fall" that really inspired me and made me think "OMG! OTP!"

"Wasn't I supposed to be someone
who could face the things that I've been running from

Let me feel, I don't care if I break down
Let me fall, even if I hit the ground
And if I cry a little, and die a little
At least I know I've lived...
Just a little...Let me feel...Let me fall

I've become much too good at being invincible
I'm an expert at playing safe and keeping cool
But I swear this is not who I'm meant to be
I refuse to let my life roll over me"

... yep, that's definitely some Grade A OTP material there. XD

I should dig out some of my own OTP lyrics, I know I've got a few... >.>

*might have to wait till tomorrow, brain failing XD*

Aha, here we go with one of Darren Hayes' latest songs (I've got SO many OTP songs that digging through all the lyrics would take me forever; this one was the first one that came up ;-)). This would probably be more for the angsty part where they're dancing around each other and not being honest about their feelings:

Give me a taste of what's to come
Give me a medicine,
Teach me a lesson, baby, I deserve to know
Cut me down to size and paralyze me
With the contents of your pretty little head

Give me somewhere else to go
Give me one thing
Tell me something I don't really need to know
I am so afraid of breaking what we've made
It is delicate and lovely, but it's a weight above me

And your words are like weapons
But you keep them inside, they cut like a knife,
And you keep it together
All those feelings inside, there's nowhere to hide but away from me
And I just want to listen to your words.
