I took up a new hobby this year, and I thought, 'hey it would be kind of cool to make a bunch of things and send them to people I really adore.' At times, it was quite therapeutic. Other times, my hands were killing me and I wanted to throw in the towel thinking that there's no way I could finish in time. Miraculously, I finished everything before the holidays (yay for having no social life). It was totally worth it seeing everyone's reactions!!! So here's a post of all the stuff I made. Warning: pic heavy. Tread carefully.
TURTLE
This is a turtle. With a pom-pom hat. What's not to like??? Btw, these pics are deceiving. It turned out pretty big
Pattern SLOTH
CANADIAN SLOTH!! I was still very much into the pom-pom hat so I added it for a little pizzazz.
Pattern.
BAMBI
This is pretty self-explanatory. Pattern is from this
book ELEPHANT!!!
Teeny, tiny elephant with a heart of gold!
Pattern THE GOLDEN TRIO
I got this pattern from Etsy. I looked at a lot of patterns, and thought this was the cutest! Hermione had the biggest weave ever. I'm a huge fan of how Harry's glasses turned out, and how the invisible thread in the middle looks like tape. They're wearing capes too, but they're a bit small. HP glasses courtesy of my brain twin.
Pattern.
PANDA
This is an adorable panda ornament with a scarf wrapped around it.
Pattern.
MERIDA
One of my favessss. LOOK AT HER HAIR. I ran out of the dark orange, so I used the leftover orange I had from my Ron and it turned out fucking. fantastic.
Pattern.
OWL
Sleeping owl ornament. It's a great pattern, so if anyone ever wants one, just holler at me.
Pattern.
*Although I drew from a bunch patterns/pictures, the rest pretty much my own creations. I didn't think I'd be able to accomplish most of these without exact instructions, but everything went better than expected. :3*
OLIVIA
DUNHAMED! She even has a little badge on her belt. Ngl, braiding took awhile as I kept redoing it to attempt a french braid look.
TOPH
My absolute favorite!!!!! It was 95% my own design, and I LOVE how everything turned out, esp. the hair. Oh. my. gosh. The hair. I had to sew it in, so it was a pain in the butt. I used a changing blue thread for the eyes to get a translucent thing going. Pat in the back, self.
NICK MILLER, NICK MILLER
Is his face turtle-y enough??
TOBY ZIEGLER
When I first started crocheting these, I thought there was no way I could make a Toby with the beard and hair. As a result, I'm super proud of this one.
SARAH WALKER
I wasn't able to make legs unfortunately, so it looks like a dress instead. She has a little knife hidden in the back, so don't mess with her.
JULIET BURKE
Bummed that I didn't take a picture of Juliet with Olivia. FBL!!!!
VERONICA FITZOSBORNE
I'm not sure if the dress is era-appropriate, but I tried. And I loveeeeeeee how her hair turned out. I know Veronica doesn't necessarily enjoy the dresses and spectacle, so I wanted to add the book because that's who she really is. QUEEN V!!!!!
Group picture!!! Kinda... I had to send the international ones earlier, so I don't have everyone.
ETC.
And these are others I made for family and friends. Meet Frodo, Yoda, and Toothless.
So that's that! For those who missed my holiday post, I don't mind sending non-holiday ones? I won't be making these again next Xmas, so if you'd like one during the year and we mutually follow/talk each other, send me a message on tumblr. Just a headsup, I will prob be obnoxious and post pics of my future projects on twitter/instagram. Signing off. I love you guys. <3
