This month an exceptional pearl popped up in the endless ambientlandscape: This Creature Sleeps Beyond The Flow Of Time from the American Christopher Jion. The title couldn't fit any better with the music on this fantastic album. It consists of one track that is built around one soundscape which you can describe as warm, deep and dreamy, comparable with "Cool Watery Depths" from Rod Modell. This is ambient with a beat but it's still ambient in it's purest form because the beat acts as a heartbeat, a calm, slow heartbeat. Nothing is hurried or nervous, this is music that brings you in a trance and a deep rest. People who love Jet Chamber I or Atom Heart's The Superficial Depth will devour this album. Without exagerating, we can speak of an instant classic here. Phe-no-me-nal.
