Grade 10 Provincial English Exam: Complete.

It was a pretty lame ass exam except for the writing portion at the end. We had to read an article by Jann Arden about what a good person she is now that she's been to Africa then compare this story about an insignificant boy who realizes he's insignificant and a guy who just wants to see through the eyes of a child. Overall pretty Weak Sauce. I had fun writing my story though, I spent proabably about 20m just sitting there thinking of stuff to add, in the end it was about 4 pages with kind of a cop-out ending. I'm happy with it though.

The Opening Paragraph:

We dropped the kids off at my Parent's and started to drive. The miles fell behind us like snake skin as we did 120 in the 100 lane.
"Where are you going?" was the question on everyone's lips.
"Away from here." was the only Honest answer. Andrea's hair was blowing behind her in the wind, all fire and roses. She was bopping her head to the beat of some 90's hit on the radio. She masked herself with a pair of dark shades that covered the eyes I'd fallen in love with.

Closing Paragraph: (edited for grammar and moved around a bit)

I escaped that night. While she slept; her perfect hair still damp with sweat and her lipstick still smudged where I'd kissed her, I was driving away from where we'd come from. The trip had changed me. I understood now, that I was still invincible; even without Andy at my side. I was still just a kid, grown old too young. I'd finally found the place where I belonged, Nowhere. Just a blur on the highway, racing towards something.
Basically what happens is a couple decides to escape their life, but the narrator feels trapped in the relationship even though Andrea is the most amazing girl ever. At one point they're pulled over by the cops and she strips while pretending to be blind and deaf. In the end he drives off while she's sleeping. I like it.
