3rd week of school already???
It's hard to believe I'm already in the 3rd week of school!!!
I officially start working for the De Anza College Physical Education/Athletics Dept. tomorrow (stupid beauracratic red tape political paperwork, *ugh*) ... Too bad there's really no games to write about --- our Spring sports teams suck: baseball, softball, tennis, x-country, swimming & diving ... combined they might have ten wins, *ughhhh*
Well, I guess I'll get to create work, even more fun :-) There's a few things I have in mind ... some feature articles, designing a newsletter or magazine/brochure for the dept., and I gotta run around and get updated mugshots and info for the Web sites ... Fun fun fun!
But not as fun as my Lit classes!!! Indeed, it's annoying at times that people in HONORS classes do not know fundamental literary terms/concepts (metaphors, theme, tone, characterization, low diction, alliteration, internalized opression, orientalism, stereotypes, etc.), though I hold in my thoughts of screaming "shut the f*ck up you imbecilic idiotic morons, this is such child's play, can me please just move on?" LOL Though as much as that would be fun, I refrain from being a total @$$ and I teach and help others with the terms (a lot! I'm always in small groups and everyone looks at me to voice my insight and help them out with the terms and key themes [which I do, I guess I do have a knack for this lit bologna, lol] ... I enjoy helping them along and providing input, though it'd be cool if they thought a little too, lol
We read "Their Eyes Were Watching God" ... It's a really great read ... I liked it =)
Woo-Hoo! On Wednesday I'm in charge of the Chi-Alpha Christian club meeting. This is quite a new concept, having a student lead the meetings, they've always had a Pastor do such ... So it's exciting, and I'm kinda honored to be left in charge :-D I get to teach the Good Word to the masses (ok, more like 20 or so college students), but it's all good =) Hopefully I'll do a good job!!!
OOOOOOOOOOOOH! Club Day is Thursday. This is going to be a blast. For Chi-Alpha, I'm doing a little skit w/ a buddy of mine ... I'm pretty much doing a very small version of my "Wrestling Witnesses" match, it's going to be interesting and a lot of fun. I really, really hope the message of the Good News reaches a few people from our demonstration.
Well, that's plenty of writing for now, hehehe I could ramble forver, haha
