If you get the time, I'd recommend Good Omens, if you haven't already read it. Note that I need to read some Gaimen stuff, but meh... when i get time.

Also, I believe he's writing and directing a screen adaptation of one of his books - it involves death, if that's any help.

You probably are talking about the Sandman series, or maybe the Death series.

I believe it was the death series - I've heard of the sandman series, and want to read it at some point, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't that one. Of course it seems both Pratchett's and Gaimen's books have fairly iconic deaths. Personally Mort is one of the best in the diskworld series... but don't start that. Just don't. Its something like 40 books long, and although most are only loosely connected (character introductions and backgrounds, most of which make the books funnier) well... i'm keeping the books for someone who owns all of them, and i still am stopped at about #10. Of course being out of the house for 10 hours a day for work doesn't help... sigh.
