I must do it. Thievery Corporation/Z-trip last night
I can confidently say this was the best show I have ever been to. Played here in Austin, at Stubb's, both Artist's gave their all and won the crowd over. First Z-trip; I was prepared to just watch him do his thing, which I already thoroughly enjoy. Being the trip he is, he of course had a few tricks up his sleeve, two to be exact. Can you say a surprise visit from a lil' ol portion of Blacksheep and Jurassic Five? Yes, this was just the opening act.
I was perfectly happy with just having the two little producers of Thievery Corporation come and spin a few records, but no, they wanted to surprise us also. What did they have up their sleeves? 17 damn band members! 17!!!!!!! All three singers, and all three Rasta's. I might add, that their bass player is amazing. Much more amazing than anyone would ever know without seeing him live. The vibe was unbelievable. During the beginning of the last song, members of TC started dragging people from the crowd to the stage. Unbelieveable to witness. The stage was packed with people. I decided to sit back and just watch an amazing thing and stayed off of it.
I miss nights like these, nights where I just go to my corner and jam.
