"After a seven year absence, FLA are proud to announce that through Digger International, they will be touring North America this June to support their new album. You've been warned.......tour dates and more info to follow soon."

To which I can only respond,
HELL YES!!!!!

Yeah, despite the fact that Front Line Assembly is hands down one of my favorite bands, (ranked up next to Skinny Puppy,) I have never managed to see them live. When you note that they have not toured in the states in the last seven years, you understand why.

Gah, I guess to fully appreciate how big of an impact they had on me you need to hear the background. Prior to hearing my first FLA song I did not really listen to much industrial/electronic type music at all, (with the exception of NIN, but really, who did not listen to them?) My staples were goth and metal. I had gotten a bad feel for most electronic due to all the mind-numbingly stupid techno-ish type music that had become prevalent by the mid-90s, and with the exception of Ministry, I was not familiar with much industrial at all.

Then came the day when Otty played the FLA track "Surface Patterns" for me. That track just plain blew my mind at the time, and I started to realize the depths and complexity which a good sound-scape can attain. Investigating FLA led me invariably to Skinny Puppy, and the rest as they say is history. Without those two I might never have evolved into a whirling, gyrating nightmare-upon-the-dance-floor. Hehe.
;)

The only thing that really sucks is that c215 is stuck in Afghanistan right now, as I am sure he would love to see them again. If memory serves, he caught them in EL Paso in 1999 and Switchblade Symphony opened for them.
