Branwen/Marcine - BFF [TIMESKIP]

Oblivious to the FUCKING TRAITORS brewing their plans, Branwen paints a portrait of Marcine and they chat up friend stuff!

Marcine
Branwen

Y'know, this modelling, posing, whatevering business was pretty difficult stuff. Moreso than it seemed. Marcine had long since lost track of the time; that was irrelevant, really, as Branwen would be finished when she was finished-- however, she was sure that it'd been A While.

At least she got a view out the window. However, she was getting this itch on the side of her leg, and her neck was a bit stiff, and maybe this was all a bit whiny since Branwen was going through the trouble of painting her but whiiiiiiiine.

WHINE. It wouldn't hurt to ask, right? "How is it, Lady Branwen?" :<

"It is going well." Branwen was perched on the edge of her bed, doubled over her art. This sort of posture was probably hell on her back, and it probably wasn't proper art procedure, but well, it worked for her. She finished a line and glanced up at Marcine. it was very easy to lose track of time. It must have been quite a while. "Please let me get this, and then we will take a break." Surely they could have tea or something like that. Tea was starting to leave a sour taste in her mouth every time she drank it, but oh well.

And tea gave her headaches, sometimes, though hell if she knew why. Coffee was much better, but it was a bit late in the day for that...

Oh, but still~~! A break~~! Yaaaaay~~! Marcine resisted the urge to nod, if only just. "Of course, lady Branwen." She could wait! BFF break time was always worth another minute or two or five~~!

There was paint all over her fingers, and when Branwen made a motion to brush her hair out of her face, the paint smeared on her cheek. She would end up taking a two-hour bath at the end of the day, just to get clean. But the art was worth it.

"There. That will do." Straightening up, the Ghost Oracle rolled her shoulders and shifted her position on the bed. "Perhaps you would like something to drink." She did not really feel like tea.

The moment Branwen had said she was finished, Marcine instantly began to roll her shoulders a bit, stretching her neck while she was at it. Ahh, that felt good... oh right, question. "If you're offering." Branwen was so nice! Being BFF with her was great! And they could do each other's hair, and talk about boys [and girls], and paint each others' nails...

Pause. "Should I get a maid?"

Haha, she had lost track of time. Poor Marcine. When you weren't the one posing, it was very easy to forget the minutes as they ticked by. She might owe Marcine a free massage by the time this portrait was done.

Ugh, no, maids. Branwen had such a love-hate relationship with those catty little bitches. "I have water," she offered.

Massages? Hot. This time, Marcine did nod. "Water would be fine." Was that too forward? Not polite enough?

More and more, she found herself not paying attention to those things, at least, not around Branwen. It was strange, but okay. She stood; regardless of how she spoke, it'd still be better if she served the Oracle, not vice versa.

Being casual? Sure, not a problem. But it still only went so far.

Branwen thought momentarily about putting up protest. She could get things for herself.

But oh well! It wasn't like she minded, or anything...and it wasn't exactly a long walk to the oasis in the desert, or anything.

"I hope that I am not keeping you from anything." Didn't Marcine have duties to attend to, or anything?

Aaaand she returned with two glasses of water! Handing one off to the other woman, Marcine sat back down, waiting for her to drink first. [No, she didn't, really; she had the morning shift fairly often, and today was no exception.

It made feeding the birds a pain, but that was alright. The birds were staying... Ethne was not.] "It's no trouble for me to be here." Pause. She tilted her head back, despite the ow stiff neck oh hell this'd do it some good or something. :') "There is not much else I'd rather be doing."

"Thank you," Branwen said softly, taking a swig of water. she paused briefly, mulling over Marcine's statement. It certainly was strange that they were spending so much time together for women in two different circles. They hadn't even spoken to each other regularly before the journal system had been introduced. "I see." Another swig. "It is nice."

She felt closer to Marcine than to her own guardians sometimes.

It really was ridiculous. As time went on, she found herself drifting more and more away from Loki and Taranis... and it wasn't just because she was bitter over the fact that they, they were leaving. No, she'd forgive her own circle their trespasses, although the others...

Well. The Ghost circle wasn't treacherous, so it was all good! And mm, water~ The conversation was a bit of a futile endeavour, how many times have they had variations on those same few lines? It was a good thing, that... the silence, it wasn't to uncomfortable.

And the view was nice. Nice enough to warrant a comment, even, as Marcine looked out the window.

Branwen bit her lip before replying.

"I would rather see the ocean." She was growing restless, tired of the view. It seemed like the wrong thing to say, actually, so she bit her lip again.

... The ocean? A strange want, but maybe not, as the Cathedral certainly wasn't located on the shore. Were there even any oceans near here? [And why did it feel like she'd asked that question before? She couldn't even recall thinking about it before, it just wasn't something that came out...]

[It gave her a headache.] "The ocean is a bit far." She hmm'd. "If there were a way to bring it here."

Was is really such a strange request? She had never really put that kind of thought into it. She just knew that it was supposed to be nice, that the birds there were different, and that she would like to paint it. But it was not here, and that was the end.

They were always trying to bring things back here. What a pointless endeavor. By the time things came back they weren't natural anymore.

"Yes, that would be nice." She said it anyway. "I suppose that it makes for beautiful art." Oh, that was right~ They had a painting to finish!

It was the best they could do, however. The Oracles could not very well go on a field trip, could they?

Didn't she like her piece of the city? "Yes. Especially with your skill, Lady Branwen." Because Branwen was so cooool and good at it and awesome and hot and awesome and. And.

Shit did she have to start posing again now? Oh sigh, she did volunteer, and she was a lot less stiff now...

No, no, unfortunately not. There only city visits, which Branwen would not go on even when she could. As much as she wanted to see the world, her world consisted of the cathedral, and things outside did not really exist for her.

The piece of the city was nice, though.

"Hah, thank you, but I am still learning. I do not think I could truly capture the ocean." No matter how hard she tried. "We are almost finished, if you do not mind."

... Well, if she said so! Branwen was plenty good now, surely her attempts would be successful! And honestly, by the time they got to the ocean [if they ever did], she would definitely be skilled enough to do the thing justice, wouldn't she?

But that was... an impossibility, at best. Marcine only nodded, beginning to settle back into her former position.

Yeah. She wasn't running away like SOME FUCKING TRAITORS, so no ocean for her! Oh well, at least there were BFFs.

"Please lift your head a little more," Branwen said, adjusting her canvas. The shadows were going to need some tweaking when she went back over this, she could just tell.
