From Relevant Magazine: Pour One Out for the Inklings’ Home Pub ‘The Eagle & Child’, Which Is Being Turned Into a Hotel
St Giles, Oxford is home to The Eagle & Child, an old pub that was the preferred watering hole of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and the group collectively known as the Inklings. A plaque commemorating their frequent presence is posted on the wall and everything. But alas, it’s time for the pub to go further up and further in, as local officials have approved plans to turn the pub into a hotel. [Read more]

What is a story or event or person or race that you wish there was more material about?
I wish there was more Dwarven history and lore.
Granted The Hobbit features them heavily, but it's very simplistic given that it's a children's book. I'd love to have a far more serious history of their events than the comparatively tiny pieces we're provided in the Legendarium (compared to Men and Elves).

A reader left the following question in a comment: “How was Tulkas able to defeat Melkor in physical combat, twice, if Melkor was more powerful than any other Vala?”
That’s a good question. And to be honest I don’t know of any note or essay where Tolkien explains this clearly. However, we can do something I rarely do and go back to The Book of Lost Tales to dissect some of J.R.R. Tolkien’s literary ideas.
TRIVIA: Friday's BOOK question: After his adventure, what place in the Shire housed Bilbo's mithril-mail?
Answer: The Mathom House in Michel Delving.
