Since I'm stuck in lockdown, I thought I'd pass the time by writing a 6,600 word essay on the Balrog Wings debate:
The Time Has Come, the Walrus Said: Do Balrogs Have Wings?
As one does, of course. It's an anti-wing essay (and I don't try to hide my bias), but I tried to be as thorough as possible.

A reader wants to know if the Long Lake was “big enough to support commercial fishing”. Well, I suppose that depends on what you mean by “commercial fishing”. Obviously we’re talking about on scales that would have been appropriate in the Classical or Medieval European civilizations.
TRIVIA: Friday's BOOK question: What was the name of the Prince of Dol Amroth who ruled Minas Tirith after the death of Denethor, while Faramir was ill?
Answer: Imrahil.
