J-pop for yous and Artz
So I have been enlisted by my sister in law to REDECORATE HER HOUSE! WOOT! Her living room is going to be asian which means me getting to test out my favorite cultures art techniques. So far I have created two scrolls for her living room. One of a kitsune and her geisha counterpart and another of a a cherry tree. I got the scrolls are walmart and kmart LOL. The cherry blossom scroll is about my height. It is edged in green and is actually a grass mat like the kind you use at the beach:
And while searching pictures I find you can buy these online for 5 bucks. Mine was a dollar. So I've bought like five just in case ^.^
The one I'm currently working on is a direct request from Teresa, a geisha girl in a cherry blossom motif. I have her kimono almost done, next is to paint the girl in it >.< The blossoms and kimono took last night and tonight to finish. Next I think is her face and hair then her feet. Her fan is going to be a pain I think though >.<
And We're painting it in pale greens and yellows. And we're putting up paper lanterns and it's going to look sweet!
And since she shares her bedroom with her daughter she's getting a Tinkerbell motif there. Varying shades of light purple, Tink silhouettes, blue drapes, and a Tinkerbell mobile!
And then the boys room is going to be Godzilla since Uncle Jonathan's gotten them hooked on it. Just have no idea how to translate that into a theme yet. Murals are out unfortunately (I was itching to do one) since it's a rental but we'll figure something out.
Anyway, I thought I'd share the playlist I've been listening too while working on the Geisha and point out my favorites!
My favorites songs are Vanilla, Marmalade, Returner, Oasis, Mizerable, Arittake no Ai de (With All My Love)-the one that's all in Kanji and has fans singing along, Tea Cup, and Mirror.
Vanilla is naughty and fun and the way Gackt sings things like moralist and egotist makes me giggle.
Marmalade makes me picture people I know walking around town in an anime opening style . . . O.O I should draw that! Heh, the English lyrics is about a guy seeing a girl while riding a bike through town and falling in love! LOL
Returner gives a very epic and tragic feeling.
Mizerable's use of violins makes my heart ache, which is awesome.
Oasis is also epic and amazing. The english version, sung by a fan who translated it is available at http://www.thewaytosay.com/ and it's also amazing!
Tea Cup makes me think most of the geisha I'm drawing. There's something about the song that makes me picture her.
Mirror makes me feel like running or something >.< I think it may be a break up some from the English I saw on http://www.thewaytosay.com/
I just found an English translation for Arittake no Ai de and it makes me love it even more (lyrics from http://www.thewaytosay.com/). It's so cute and sad and happy all at the same time!
