Я все еще с любимым сериалом Rita. В 4ой серии 4ого сезона есть замечательная сцена общения родителей и Риты.
История банальная - один мальчик бьет и издевается над другим. Этот мальчик из не очень благополучной семьи - папа один воспитывает сына и им приходится много переезжать с места на место. Жертва - сын двух учителей этой же школы. Его родители совершенно отбитые на голову на новомодных воспитательных процессах - здоровое питание, отказ от насилия в любой форме и т.д.
И вот между ними происходит такой диалог:
Рита:
I’m just glad you could come, so we could talk about how the boys are behaving.
Сёрен (отец Лиама):
I’m sorry that Liam has hit Knud and teased him. I apologize for that. I’ve been talking to him, and it won’t happen again.
Рита:
Perfect. That was surprisingly easy.
Нилс:
You don’t have to apologize. We do.
Сёрен:
What do you mean?
Калинка:
After everything you’ve all been through,
this can’t have been easy.
Сёрен:
Been through?
Нилс:
All the moving around and Liam changing schools so many times.
Сёрен:
Moving a couple of times doesn’t mean that it’s okay to bully and beat others.
Рита:
No. Exactly. That’s all there is to it. Let’s…
Калинка:
We’re just saying that it’s important to take Liam’s feelings into consideration.
Нилс:
And his father’s. Søren, isn’t it?
Калинка:
We’re just acknowledging that things are rough for you.
Сёрен:
Who says things are rough for us?
Калинка:
You’re unemployed, and you’ve moved several times. Our competitive society puts a lot of pressure on families like yours.
Сёрен:
Families like ours?
Нилс:
We aren’t criticizing you. We’re considering your situation.
Kalinka and I obviously have access to privileges that you don’t have.
Сёрен:
And that’s why I can’t raise my son properly?
Калинка:
That’s not what we’re saying. Now you’re taking the blame for it all again.
Сёрен:
-Whose fault could it otherwise be?
Рита:
-I’d like to know, too.
Нилс:
Okay. The theory is a bit complicated.
Сёрен:
I just might be able to understand it even though I don’t have access to your privileges.
Калинка:
No, that’s the point.
Нилс:
There are invisible power structures for which those of us in the cultured classes share the responsibility.
Сёрен:
So now being a school teacher is cultured.
Калинка:
It’s more cultured than… It depends on what he does.
Нилс:
We don’t know. He might read newspapers.
Сёрен:
What the hell are you on about?
Нилс:
You and your son are subjected to micro aggressions from society.
We’re taking responsibility for that.
From a structural point of view, our son is bullying yours.
Рита:
From a structural point of view, this conversation is over.
Калинка:
The only thing we want to do is to help you.
Сёрен:
I haven’t asked for your help. I just wanted to apologize.
Нилс:
There’s nothing to apologize for, is there?
Сёрен:
Sorry. Okay?
По-моему эта сцена шикарно раскрывает суть того, во что выродился гуманизм в современном западном обществе. Т.е. тот факт, что ты умнее, более успешен в работе/учебе, родился в семье, где читают книги, делает тебя агрессором по отношению к тем, кому по разным причинам не так поперло в жизни. И вместо того, чтобы попытаться поднять уровень тех, кто оказался ниже, пытаются опустить ниже тех, кто выше.
Да-да, я все еще пытаюсь понять почему мне должно быть стыдно что я белый мужчина. Почему равенство превратилось в угнетение сильных?
