I had quite an interesting conversation with a
friend of mine back from
school about, why people become friends and bond to each other?.
Top reasons as we saw it ..
* with the intent to get hooked (first becoming friends is the stepping stone, in case of opp sex)
* you need something that the other person has
* you need to get introduced to the other person's friend (using him/her to get to the other person)
* you share similar values, attitude in life, get along seamlessly (overlapping interests)
* you need companionship
almost all of it are motivated by selfish reasons .. Now as I think, pretty much everything we do could be described as selfish. Lets assume that we did a things or two with no ulterior motives, but it raises a questions as why did we even venture into that. It might be that, by doing it we derive a sense of pleasure or satisfaction. That itself could be a selfish motive !!
